Composer Rebecca Lloyd is no stranger to collaborating with film directors writing orchestral music for movies though her new venture with wine producer Kim Tyrer from Galafrey Wines is heightened by a new sense. Inspired by taste of the wines, Rebecca has composed three very special pieces of music for flute, violin and cello to accompany each glass. ‘It is how the music resonates in my taste buds that I have captured. Usually I am writing music using my eyes to accompany the visual emotions on the screen and I am loving focusing on sounds that I taste” says Rebecca. The fascination of wine was fostered when Rebecca met her wine loving husband in 2012. Rebecca joined the “Fabulous Ladies Wine Society” not long after which has given her the opportunity to taste amazing and versatile wines and meet the wine makers. It was at one of these events Rebecca first met Kim and tried her wines that has inspired her. On Saturday 19th august 2023 at an intimate soirée, you can experience the premier of the collaboration to taste the music. You will be taken on a journey with Rebecca’s three pieces and Kim will be there too and invite you to indulge the accompanying wines starting with a sparkling, then Riesling and finishing with a Shiraz.
